2018 Lancia Delta

After few years of brake, Italian car maker will bring back its well-known nameplate, probably as 2018 Lancia Delta. This was a compact family car, which was in production for almost three decades, in two periods. We saw many variants of it, and there are total three generations. Original model was in production betwee 1979 and 1994. During this long period of production, we have seen several updates and facelifts. Second generation came in 1993, and there were two body styles in offer – a three and five-door hatchback. This model didn’t have so long life and production ended in 1999. After almost a decade, third generation came. Company produced it until 2014. After few years of brake, next generation will come as 2018 Delta, according to latest reports.

2018 Lancia Delta 01According to the latest reports, this model will come completely redesigned next year, as 2018 Lancia Delta. This will be a fourth generation of this legendary nameplate. Although there are many rumors about this new model, we still didn’t get official confirmation from FCA Group. According to some reliable sources, new model will feature completely new platform and most likely will be based on some models from Fiat. Most likely, new 2018 Lancia Delta will share characteristics with new Tipo, which came just recently. In mechanical aspect, these two models will be very close, sharing the chassis, engines. Even interior should be pretty much the same. On the other side, 2018 Delta will come with its own styling, and we expect that Lancia will present completely new design language with this new model.

As we already mentioned, new 2018 Lancia Delta should feature pretty much the same engine lineup as new Tipo. So, we should see a whole palette of different engine options in offer. Base model will feature a 95-hp 1.4 petrol engine. This engine will be also adapted for LPG and CNG fuel and in both cases it should have max power of 120 horses. Finally, we will see two Fiat’s well-known MultiJet engines, with 95 and 120 horses. These diesel engines will come both with manual and automatic transmissions in offer, while petrol, LPG and CNG models will come only with manual transmission.

2018 Lancia Delta release date

According to the latest reports, new 2018 Lancia Delta should come in the second half of next year.
